TOWN HALL MEETINGS IN SAN JOSE WITH
REP. ZOE LOFGREN AND REP. MIKE HONDA TO
ADDRESS LGBT ISSUES - August 7 and 14

All Out4Immigration members and supporters in the San Francisco Bay Area are urged to attend one or both of these town halls with our local Congressional representatives.

Where:
San Jose Billy De Frank LGBT Center, 938 The Alameda, San Jose, CA
When: Saturday, August 7 with Rep. Lofgren / Saturday, August 14 with Rep. Honda
Time: 10 am - 11 am (both dates)
Wear: Your Out4Immigration t-shirts (contact Amos at Amos@out4immigration.org if you need one)
Ask: About LGBT immigration rights, namely passage of the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA); the Reuniting Families Act (RFA) and inclusion of LGBT families in Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Even if you do not live in these representatives' district, please attend as Rep. Lofgren sits on the House Judiciary Committee (responsible for immigration) and Rep. Honda is the author of the Reuniting Families Act. Rep. Honda is a co-sponsor of UAFA; Rep. Lofgren is not.

Get Involved with Out4Immigration!
--Download our Grassroots Groundswell Kit and get active during August, when your state's Senators and Representatives are in their home offices. It doesn't matter if you visited your Representatives last year, if they are already co-sponsors of UAFA or even if they are adamantly opposed to this legislation. As a constituent you have the right to make your concerns about immigration discrimination and your struggles as part of same-sex binational couple known. Remember, change starts with each of us. Everything you need to get started is in the kit -- including O4I contact info for support from our members.

Wish President Obama a Happy Birthday - and Urge Him to Unite Our Families, Too
--Out4Immigration's Letter Writing to Congress Campaign on Change.org is now in its 74th week. This week we are wishing President Obama a Happy Birthday, and reminding him of his campaign promises to fix our broken immigration system and pass the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA). Please take a minute to click here and send this letter to President Obama.

Thanks to All Our Volunteers!
Out4Immigration is an all-volunteer, grassroots group. Everything we do comes from people volunteering their personal time - to build coalitions with their communities, to get resolutions and letters in support of UAFA, to speak at conferences and rallies, to staff booths at events, to organize events and march in parades. Thank you all for stepping up. It is your commitment to this cause that will ultimately end discrimination in US immigration law.
